Dr. Moxon’s Neurorobotic Laboratory studies how information in the brain is encoded, how this information can be used in brain-machine interface devices and the impact of neurological injury or disease on that encoding. The lab is especially interested in cognitive functions involved in motor planning, learning and decision making. This work has potential applications in understanding, treating and restoring function after neurological injuries or diseases such as spinal cord injury, stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.
